The Massachusetts State Police Air Wing on Monday found a domestic violence suspect who "fled the scene of his offense and was last seen running across Route 24 and into the woods near Wilson Road" in Fall River.

On the afternoon of January 20, state troopers with the Dartmouth barracks, aided by state police in the air, assisted Fall River police in searching for the man, who was also wanted on four outstanding warrants.

The MSP Air Wing duty crew -- troopers Rick Boulos and Gregg Spooner -- located the suspect hiding in the woods. They directed ground units, including a K9 team, to the man's location. The suspect was taken into custody and booked by Fall River Police.

State police used infrared technology from the air to find the suspect's hiding place, and communicated with state and local police on the ground. The identity of the suspect was not immediately released.

"The MSP Air Wing is a vital asset to local police and other MSP units for its search and overflight capabilities," Massachusetts State Police said in a statement.
