DARTMOUTH — A bus driver and four students have been sent to the hospital after a vehicle struck a deer this morning, launching it through the windshield of a school bus.

Dartmouth Police say that at 7:12 a.m. this morning, a vehicle struck a deer in front of 488 Chase Road. The deer then was launched into the windshield of a school bus. Police say the driver and four students were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

According to Dartmouth Middle School students who were on the bus at the time, the deer landed inside the bus and died as a result of injuries suffered in the crash.
