Care Free Homes, Inc., announced the finalists of their 6th Annual New Year, New Roof Giveaway; the community will vote online now through January 15 to choose the winner of a GAF roof.

Earlier this month, communities from Cape Cod, Rhode Island, and Southeastern Massachusetts nominated deserving, in-need homeowners to be recipients of a GAF Timberline HDZ roofing system at absolutely no cost. Care Free Homes, Inc. selected five finalists who will advance to the voting stage. The five finalists include:

  1. Lifelong community philanthropists, Jane and Michael Bailey of Newport
  2. St. Luke's Hospital Frontline worker, Hilda Lopes of New Bedford
  3. Framingham Firefighter, Peter Mathieu, and his wife, Pam, of Fall River
  4. Old Rochester Regional High School Teacher, Kelly Ochoa, of Fairhaven
  5. A hardworking, single father, Francis Tichelaar, of Taunton

“The pandemic has canceled many important life events but our 2021 New Year, New Roof Giveaway wasn’t going to be one of them,” said Care Free Homes Marketing Coordinator, Stephanie Pickup. “We are excited to move forward and provide much-needed positivity and encouragement to our struggling neighbors. It’s wonderful to see family, friends, and communities rally around our finalists with an outpouring of love and support every year. It’s truly an uplifting experience for everyone.”

The community can read the stories of each finalist and cast their votes online via the Care Free Homes, Inc. website HERE. The winner will be announced with a surprise reveal on Monday, January 18.

The New Year, New Roof Giveaway is made possible thanks to a partnership between Care Free Homes, Inc. and GAF Roofing. Black Tie Cookies, United Way of Greater Fall River, and United Way of Greater New Bedford also support the program as community partners. Black Tie Cookies donates gourmet cookie bouquets to all the finalists and the winner. United Way assists with community outreach.
