FISA Bomb About to Blow [OPINION]

A long-anticipated report by Inspector General Michael Horowitz is due to be made public in just under two and a half weeks and it's expected to be a doozie.

The investigation focuses on how the Trump-Russia collusion probe was begun, who initiated it, and why.

Fasten your seatbelts, because we are in for a wild ride.

CNN is reporting that Horowitz has determined that a former FBI attorney may have altered documents to illegally obtain a FISA or Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant to investigate Trump campaign aide Carter Page during the 2016 campaign. Horowitz has reportedly referred his findings to U.S. Attorney John Durham for criminal investigation.

We don't know who the attorney allegedly under criminal investigation is at this time or whether former FBI director James Comey was directly involved. We do know that Comey signed the apparently fraudulent FISA warrant application and his actions in connection with the investigation of Trump have been questioned by congressional investigators. Former FBI Deputy Director Andy McCabe signed off on the subsequent renewals of that FISA application.

If the report is true, it proves that Trump has been right from the start and would erase any doubt that the deep state, the Democrats and the media have been involved in an illegal plot to prevent Trump from winning and then force him from office once the election was over. That is called a coup – as in treason.

Horowitz is expected to release his report on December 9 and testify before a Senate committee two days later. For Trump and his supporters, this may finally be the vindication they have been looking for.

If the report is as damning as it is expected to be, and should Durham's investigation result in indictments, it will be a complete game-changer. The reasons for the Mueller investigation, the impeachment hearings and the constant efforts to delegitimize the Trump presidency will become crystal clear even to the most ardent of Trump detractors.

Once all of this comes into focus – and it will – the last remaining question will be what did Barack Obama know and when did he know it?
