The Acushnet Fire Department is the fourth titleholder in our First Responder of the Month program.

WBSM named the Acushnet Fire Department the First Responder of the Month for June of 2019. One firefighter, in particular, received a nomination for serving his community in a big way. Here is the nomination for Paul Frysinger:

Paul has gone above and beyond for not only the town of Acushnet, but for anyone in need. He has rescued many from car accidents, medical situations, and fires. He puts others before himself. He will run into a burning house while everyone else is running out. Recently, we were heading to Dave and Busters and came up on a rollover accident in Westport on a rainy Sunday morning. Without hesitation, he pulled the car into the median and immediately ran to the vehicle and began doing what he could for those trapped in the car (2 adults and 2 children) as the vehicle was on its roof. He kept everyone calm while making sure they were all safe until fire and Ems responded with proper equipment. He is just a hard-working family man who will always provide for his family and make sure everyone is taken care of!”

Special thanks to Chief Kevin Gallagher for helping us organize the surprise visit!

If you know someone who deserves to be recognized for their hard work and commitment as a first responder, nominate them below so we can honor them for their selfless acts of courage, compassion, and loyalty to the job force they signed up for, knowing that there would and will be challenging days ahead of them.
