Fall River firefighters responded shortly after midnight to reports of a fire at a mill building at 60 County Street. Fire companies from across the region were dispatched to offer mutual aid.

By around 3 a.m., fire was heavy on the fifth floor in the middle of the building and flames were seen coming through the roof, according to witnesses. The General Alarm Mill Fire damaged the Stafford Mills Complex. There was no immediate word of any injuries or what may have started the fire.

The fire was called in as crews were responding to a separate attic fire in a residential building at 77 Tremont St. That fire reportedly displaced 12 people. This story will be updated.
