Fire Damages Fairhaven Diner

FAIRHAVEN — Firefighters were called to Jake's Diner on Alden Road just before 1 p.m. on Monday.

When they arrived, they found heavy flames on the back of the building in the area of the loading deck.

Customers and staff were evacuated from the diner and the fire was extinguished within about 20 minutes.

The cause of the fire is being investigated and the business was closed until damage to the restaurant can be evaluated.

There were no injuries reported.
