Fall River Will Host a Summer Food Truck Series

Fall River will host a food truck series this summer and is teaming up with PVD Food Truck Events to help make it happen.

It's been my experience that some of the best-tasting food can come right off a food truck, so imagine my excitement when I got word about this. I know, you want me to spill the tea, so here is all you need to know.

When and Where the Food Trucks Are Coming

The series, called Fall River Food Trucks at the Gates, is set for June 2, July 7 and Sept. 1 at 5 p.m. The name of the reoccurring Thursday event gives away that it will be held at the Gates of the City on Ponta Delgada Boulevard.

The series is free to attend. The only cost is whatever you purchase from the food trucks, but supporting local trucks is what we want to do anyway.

“Not only will these events provide some family fun for our residents, they will also introduce visitors from across Southern New England to Fall River’s waterfront," Mayor Paul Coogan said in a statement. "Our hope is that residents and visitors alike will come down to the Gates, enjoy local food and beer, and explore Fall River’s growing waterfront.”

Plans call for a rotating mix of over a dozen food trucks, live music, and beer and wine supplied by Troy City Brewing, Primo Catering and Gooseneck Vineyards, according to a news release.

Part of the boulevard and Water Street will be closed to traffic for the events. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
