Manhunt Underway for Fall River Man After Failed Court Appearance
FALL RIVER (WBSM) — State and local police are looking for a Fall River man who failed to show up for the start of his Fall River Superior Court jury trial on February 12.
Scott Fontaine, 48, was scheduled for trial on indictments charging him with indecent assault and battery on a person under the age of 14, posing/exhibiting a child in the nude, and possessing child pornography.
He posted $10,000 cash bail and was ordered to appear in court Monday morning for the beginning of his criminal trial.
After failing to appear in court, an arrest warrant was issued, according to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office.
The DA's Office says state and local police have made numerous efforts to locate Fontaine during the past 24 hours.
Anyone with information on Fontaine's whereabouts is urged to call Fall River Police at 508-676-8511. If you wish to call anonymously, you can do so by calling 508-672-TIPS (8477). You can also use District Attorney Tom Quinn's anonymous text-a-tip program by texting the word "Bristol" to the phone number CRIMES (274637).
