A Fall River man has arrested in Georgia on multiple rape charges after he allegedly impregnated his own daughter.

According to a Facebook post by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Roque Garcia-Ortiz was arrested this past weekend at a hotel in East Point, Georgia. According to the Sheriff’s Office, they were contacted by Fall River Police seeking help in apprehending Garcia-Ortiz by way of the Sheriff’s Office’s Scorpion Unit.

“The Scorpion Unit acted quickly, fearing the suspect was planning on flying to Puerto Rico where he has family ties,” the Sheriff’s Office wrote.

Garcia-Ortiz was brought in without incident and remains at the Fulton County Jail awaiting extradition to Massachusetts.

Garcia-Ortiz faces three counts of rape, three counts of aggravated rape of a child, and one count of rape of a child with force for allegedly impregnating his 14-year-old daughter.
