FALL RIVER — A suspect in a nearly two-year-old armed robbery has turned himself in to authorities.

The Bristol County District Attorney's Office says Achraf Balzourt, 25, of Fall River, surrendered himself to court authorities at the Fall River Justice Center on Monday.

Balzourt was wanted on a Superior Court indictment charging him with armed and masked robbery. The charges stem from December 26, 2017 when Balzourt allegedly robbed the Petro Plus & Food Market armed with a knife.

Balzourt had been arrested for the crime and was released on $3,000 bail after he was found to be a danger to the community during a dangerousness hearing in Fall River Superior Court. However, Balzourt failed to appear for a pretrial hearing on March 15, 2019.

After he did not show for the hearing, Balzourt was featured on the Bristol County District Attorney's Most Wanted list.

Following his surrender, Balzourt was ordered held on $3,000 bail. If he posts bail, he will be ordered to wear a GPS monitoring device.
