Fall River Police Arrest Alleged Repeat Gun Offender
FALL RIVER — Fall River Police have arrested a man they say is a repeat gun offender after they executed a search warrant at his residence.
On Thursday, March 11, members of the Fall River Police Gang Unit, Vice Unit, and the Metro Boston Gang Task Force executed the warrant at 555 Whipple Street, first floor. The target of the investigation was Michael Giasson, 20.
A search of the residence turned up the following: a loaded black and tan firearm; a large, clear plastic bag containing 16.85 ounces of marijuana; a small plastic bag containing 0.6 ounces of marijuana; five commercial bags containing 3.5 grams each of marijuana; a red digital scale; and 25 empty commercial bags.
Giasson was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm without an FID card; possession of ammunition without an FID card; and possession with intent to distribute a Class D drug.
Police say this is the second time that Giasson has been arrested on a firearms charge, after he was arrested and charged for possessing a black Ruger pistol on July 30, 2020.
