Fall River Police Seize Over $133,000 of Cocaine in Drug Bust
FALL RIVER — Police conducting a drug bust in Fall River on Monday evening discovered over 1.3 kilos of suspected cocaine and other drugs along with two illegal firearms and more than $15,000 in cash.
Fall River Police said 38-year-old Roberto Torres-Camacho was arrested after vice intelligence and gang unit detectives searched his apartment in the 100 block of Covel Street at around 6:40 p.m. Monday.
They allegedly unearthed two unlicensed firearms and 1,336 grams of suspected cocaine, which police said has an estimated street value of around $133,500.
Detectives also said they found 2.5 oxycodone pills, one suboxone strip, and a small amount of marijuana as well as $15,055 in cash, which was seized.
The two firearms included a loaded .22 caliber Beretta pistol and a 9mm Taurus pistol that also had a loaded magazine.
One weapon, the Taurus, had been reported as stolen from Pennsylvania, police said.
They added that neither handgun was lawfully secured.
Torres-Camacho is charged with trafficking 200 grams or more of cocaine, two counts of possessing a class B drug, and multiple firearms offenses as well as receiving stolen property under $1,200.
