The Fall River police are looking for someone they believe to be a suspicious person who has been lingering near schools, and has even approached students.

The Fall River Public Schools Facebook Page issued a statement this morning to make both parents and students aware of the current situation. This is how that message read:

This is Superintendent Meg Mayo-Brown with an important safety message for parents, guardians, and school staff. We have been notified by the Fall River Police Department of an investigation of a suspicious male who has approached students on two separate occasions. The first incident occurred in the area of Spring Street and Second Street. The second incident occurred near the Viveiros School.

This male was described as Caucasian, approximately sixty years of age, five foot nine inches tall with a white beard. He was wearing camouflage pants, a white shirt and beanie style cap.

These incidents are currently under investigation. Based on the description they appear to involve the same male. The Fall River Police Department has asked us to be on the lookout for this male. If this male is observed please contact the Fall River Police Department immediately. If the male is seen inside of a vehicle please be vigilant for the registration number.

As stated in the message from the superintendent, these events are under investigation. If you know anything about this suspicious person you are being asked to call the Fall River Police at   508-676-8511.
