Fall River Police Help Capture Rhode Island Shooting Suspect
FALL RIVER — Fall River Police have helped capture a fugitive wanted in Rhode Island in connection with a shooting.
Thursday at approximately 7 p.m., Fall River Police responded to 2990 North Main Street, to meet with police from Newport, Rhode Island, and members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force. Also on scene were United States Marshals, the Massachusetts State Police, the Mass State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, and Rhode Island State Police.
Newport Police were searching for 21-year-old Calvin Febles of Middletown, Rhode Island, wanted in connection with a shooting that took place at Festival Field in Newport on April 24.
Febles was located in the basement of 2990 North Main Street in Fall River, and taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Fall River Police Station, where he was booked on a fugitive from justice charge.
In Rhode Island, Febles will be charged with use of a firearm when committing a crime of violence, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and other charges.
