Fall River Announces MLK Poster and Essay Contest Winners
Mayor Paul Coogan’s office just announced the winners of the MLK Essay Contest Winners.
After consideration of over 300 entries to the Mayor’s MLK Poster and Essay Contest, the Fall River Diversity Committee has chosen the winners of the contest. Mayor Paul Coogan thanks students and their families for the phenomenal participation in this contest. The winners, listed below, were acknowledged at a small ceremony on Tuesday, February 23.
Elementary School:
- 1st Place: Juliana of Silvia School
- 2nd Place: Camila of Viveiros
- 3rd Place: Khloe of Greene School
Middle School:
- 1st Place: Thaliairy of Morton
- 2nd Place: Brigid of Saint Staninslaus
- 3rd Place: Savannah of Espirito Santo
High School:
- 1st Place: Juelz of Diman
- 2nd Place: Madison of the Deaconess Home
- 3rd Place: Thomas of Diman
A public gallery has been created for all to see these submissions.
Entries to the elementary school poster contest have been placed in the windows on both the sides of City Hall atrium to create the MLK Contest Gallery. Students, their families, and other residents are welcome to walk around the platform of the Government Center to enjoy the student work. The gallery will become an additional activity in the Winterbridge event at Gromada Plaza, where families can partake in a scavenger hunt and family-friendly activities/giveaways.
