FALL RIVER — Two men have been arrested in Fall River on Tuesday after authorities seized around two kilograms of suspected cocaine valued at an estimated $70,000 mailed via the US Postal Service.

Fall River police said that Raul Miranda, 39, and Angel Casado, 53, have been taken into custody following a multi-agency operation.

Law enforcement officers said they witnessed the delivery of a package containing the suspected illegal drugs to a home in the 500 block of Durfee Street in Fall River on Tuesday.

Police said investigators found the package contained around two kilograms of cocaine. Officers also seized $500 from Miranda.

Miranda is charged with trafficking in 200 grams or more of cocaine, conspiracy to violate the drug laws, and operating with a suspended driver's license.

Casado is charged with trafficking in 200 grams or more of cocaine and conspiracy to violate the drug laws.

Members of the Fall River Police Department's Vice Unit, Massachusetts State Police, US Postal Inspection Service, and the federal Drug Enforcement Agency all took part in the operation.
