Fall River Man Sentenced for Raping Girlfriend’s Teenage Daughter
FALL RIVER - A Fall River man is sentenced after being convicted Monday of raping his girlfriend's teenage daughter.
The Bristol County District Attorney's Office says 44-year-old Osvaldo Leite pleaded guilty Monday in Fall River Superior Court to an indictment charging him with two counts of rape of a child, two counts of indecent assault and battery on a person under 14, and one count of assault with intent to rape.
The charges stem from an incident in October of 2014 while the child's mother was at work, with the defendant telling the 13-year-old victim never to tell anyone. The victim told her mother about the sexual assault days after it occurred.
Leite has been sentenced to seven to nine years in state prison.
