Emergency services were alerted by a call from a motorist, who said the vehicle was engulfed in flames, according to the D.A.'s office.

State police and Westport fire department crews were sent to the scene.

Once the flames were extinguished, emergency workers found Decarvalho dead inside the vehicle.

No other vehicles were apparently involved in the crash, the D.A.'s office said.

The crash remains under investigation.

Decarvalho's obituary states that he was born in Brockton and graduated from Dean College with a degree in criminal justice and homeland security.

The obituary goes on to note that he played volleyball and enjoyed spending time with family, including his parents and three siblings.
