Fall River Man Killed in Wareham Crash, Police Seek Second Truck
WAREHAM — Massachusetts State Police are asking for the public's help in relation to a fatal crash on I-195 in Wareham on Monday morning.
Preliminary investigation reveals that at about 4:45 a.m. on Monday a 2012 Nissan Titan pickup truck was traveling east on I-195 in Wareham before Exit 21 when it is believed to have struck a light grey dump truck. The Nissan then veered off of the right side of the highway and into the treeline.
A passenger in the Nissan, a 48-year-old Fall River man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck, a 33-year-old Fall River man, received minor injuries and was transported to Tobey Hospital in Wareham for treatment.
The light grey dump truck believed to have been involved in the crash was not at the scene when police arrived. Police believe that it may have damage to the left rear of the truck bed, including possible black paint transfer.
Anyone with information on the crash, including the identity or whereabouts of the driver of the light grey dump truck, is asked to call Massachusetts State Police at the Bourne Barracks at 508-759-4488 or dial 911.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
