Fall River Man Killed After Car Went ‘Airborne’
FALL RIVER — A Fall River man died last night after a single-car crash in which the car flew off a steep part of President Avenue, then hit a car and a tree on High Street.
According to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office, the driver, a 31-year-old Fall River resident, will not be identified until his next of kin is notified.
A spokesperson from the D.A.'s Office noted in a statement that the man was traveling west on President Avenue in a Nissan Pathfinder on June 20 when his vehicle apparently went "airborne at a steep section of the street."
The Pathfinder then crashed into an empty and parked Cadillac before eventually hitting a High Street tree, the statement continued.
According to the spokesperson, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash shortly after police and paramedics arrived around 11:30 p.m.
No other people were involved in the crash.
