Fall River Man Charged in Monday Morning Stabbing
FALL RIVER — Police are charging a Fall River man in connection to a stabbing on Monday.
Fall River Police responded to the Xtra Mart convenience store at 1012 Bedford Street just before 8:30 a.m. on Monday after receiving a 911 call from a clerk who said a male had entered the business and was bleeding.
First responders arrived on scene and found the 41-year-old male victim suffering from a stab wound to his abdomen. The victim received medical treatment at the scene before being transported to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The victim identified his attacker to police as John Dupras, 41, of Fall River. The victim told police he was a previous acquaintance of Dupras'. He said Dupras stabbed him during an argument.
Police canvassed the area and located Dupras in his home at 150 Davis Street, Apt. 1, Fall River. He was arrested without incident.
Dupras has been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
