FALL RIVER — A Fall River man has been arrested on suspicion of selling drugs after a variety of narcotics and more than $74,000 in cash were allegedly found in his home.

Fall River police said that gang unit and major crimes detectives along with a gang task force from Boston searched a Huard Street home on Thursday.

Investigators had received information that 30-year-old Brent Couturier, the resident of the home, was allegedly involved in selling illegal drugs, according to police.

Couturier was found outside his house and arrested without incident.

Police said a search of his person allegedly turned up crack cocaine and oxycodone pills, while they allegedly found assorted pills and other illegal narcotics in his home, along with a large sum of money thought to be drug sales proceeds.

According to police, officers found 17 grams of fentanyl, 23 grams of crack cocaine, assorted pills, and suboxone strips in the house, along with more than $74,000 in cash, which was confiscated.

Police said they also found an electric weapon, but did not disclose what type.

Couturier is charged with a variety of drug trafficking and possession offenses, along with possessing the electric weapon.

An additional offense under the armed career criminal act will be sought due to the nature of the charges, police said.
