A Fall River man is arrested after allegedly threatening former Mayor Will Flanagan with a large pair of scissors.

The Fall River Herald reports 28-year-old Andrew Rak faces multiple charges after allegedly breaking into Flanagan's car Saturday afternoon, and threatening to kill the former mayor with a pair of large ceremonial scissors taken from the vehicle.

Flanagan told police he was home at the time, and went outside to confront the man who had broken into his car. Flanagan says the man made comments about him being the mayor, and then stated he was going to kill Flanagan.

Police were called to the scene and arrested Rak.

Police recovered a wooden baseball bat, three wallets, and other belongings they believe were taken in other vehicle break-ins.

Rak will be arraigned in Fall River District Court on charges including assault with a dangerous weapon, breaking and entering, larceny, and resisting arrest.
