NEW BEDFORD - New Bedford Police have charged a Fall River man after he was found unresponsive behind the wheel of a running car.

Police say 35-year-old Mark Springer was slumped over in his vehicle shortly before 11 P.M. Friday night in the area of Marty's Gas on Acushnet Avenue. Police found the man and administered Narcan to be treated for a potential overdose.

Further investigation revealed that Springer was in possession of about 24-grams of cocaine.

Springer was arrested and faces charges of operating under the influence of drugs, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, outstanding warrant, trafficking Class B (cocaine), and trafficking Class B (cocaine) in a school zone.
