Fall River Man Arrested After Fatal Pedestrian Accident

Police say a Fall River man was arrested Friday night after killing a pedestrian while driving drunk on I-195 in Somerset.

Fifty-five year old Horacio Goncalo was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol.

Police responded around 8:30pm to a report of  a single-car crash  near exit 4B.  They found that Goncalo's car had struck a pedestrian who was walking in the highway.

The pedestrian died from his injuries at the scene of the crash.  The victim has not yet been named.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges could be filed.
