Fall River Police say a man smashed the glass door of a gas station and auto repair shop, entered the building and took nothing, and was arrested near St. Anne's hospital intoxicated and bleeding from the hand

Early this morning police responded to JZ Express at 969 South Main Street in response to an alarm, according to a news release. Police reportedly found the front door shattered and drops of blood on the glass and on the floor.

Officers conducted a search of the area and soon located and detained 55-year-old Keith A. Cummings of 1812 Stafford Rd. in Fall River.

Police viewed videos from the store security system. They say it showed a man smash the glass door, enter the building, open cabinets, and leave the building empty-handed. The suspect was reportedly seen cutting his hand on the broken glass while exiting through the shattered door.

Police say the man in the video was the same man detained near the hospital. Cummings was reportedly treated at St. Anne’s for his laceration and placed under arrest.

Cummings faces one charge of breaking and entering in the nighttime to commit a felony, according to the Fall River Police Department.
