Fall River’s Lizzie Borden Bed & Breakfast Going on the Market
Fall River's most iconic home is about to hit the real estate market.
The Lizzie Borden Bed & Breakfast is going to be put up for sale, according to the realtor selling the companion property owned by the same owner of the infamous murder house at 92 Second Street.
Suzanne St. John, who works at the bed and breakfast as a tour guide, is a realtor with The Seyboth Team. She is also the realtor for Maplecroft, the home Lizzie Borden lived in after being acquitted of the murders, which has been on the market again since August. That home was put up for sale for $890,000, is fully furnished, and in almost completely renovated condition.
St. John posted on her Facebook page a photo of the bed and breakfast location with a "for sale" sign out front and the caption, "'Axe' me what's coming on the market?"
When a commenter expressed concern that it would go to a private owner and no longer open to the public, St. John intimated that there is a healthy amount of reservations coming up at the house.
St. John said the bed and breakfast will officially hit the market tomorrow, January 11, and will be fully furnished with an asking price of $2 million.
Donald Woods purchased the Lizzie Borden Bed & Breakfast in 2004 with partner Lee-ann Wilber, and then purchased Maplecroft in February 2018. Renovations on that property continued, but once the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Woods made the decision to retire and to put Maplecroft on the market. St. John says those retirement plans are also why the bed and breakfast is being put on the market.
