FALL RIVER — A Fall River man has been sentenced after police found over 100 grams of heroin in his home last year.

The Bristol County District Attorney's Office says Matthew Pankowski, 30, of Fall River, will serve at least three years in state prison after being convicted last week in Fall River Superior Court of possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug.

Pankowski pleaded guilty to the single-count indictment.

On June 6, 2017, Fall River Police executed a search warrant at Pankowski's Aberdeen Street home. Inside the residence, police found 11 bags of heroin that had been packaged for street sale, weighing over 100 grams. Police also found scales, letters of standing, plastic sandwich bags, a bag of rice, and $306 in cash.
