When you think of Christmas, you don't usually think of creepy. However, one author is sharing a creepy Christmas story at the Fall River Public Library.

A Night of Spooky Storytelling at Fall River Library

Jeff Belanger is no Grinch, but he certainly brings the spooky to what is supposed to be a jolly time of year. On Wednesday, November 19, Belanger will be bring a multimedia experience to the Fall River Public Library that can only be described as "eerie."

The night is perfectly titled, "The Fright Before Christmas", which also happens to be the title of a book he published back in 2023.

Belanger recently celebrated the release of another book, Wicked Stranger: Your Guide to Ghosts, Monsters, Oddities, and Urban Legends from New England along with Acushnet resident and photographer Frank C. Grace. They even had a launch party for the book at a local restaurant we know well, the Profile Tavern in Freetown.

Many also known Belanger through his work on the hit television series Ghost Adventures, serving as writer and researcher for all 28 seasons, and for his popular podcast New England Legends.

What to Expect With Jeff Belanger's The Fright Before Christmas

Belanger gave us a preview of what is sure to be one creepy night.

"My show at the Fall River Library will take the audience through the dark and creepy origin stories of the holiday. Based on my best-selling book, The Fright Before Christmas: Surviving Krampus and Other Yuletide Monsters, Witches, and Ghosts, this is NOT the show to bring young children to – unless you hate them."

Clearly, Belanger has a great sense of humor, and this is sure to be a fun, yet different way to get in the holiday spirit.
