Fall River Cop Arrested in Swansea For DUI

A long time Fall River police officer is facing drunk driving charges in Swansea. According to WJAR Channel 10, Lt. Eduardo Raposo was arrested following a Jan. 12th crash. 

A Swansea Police report says that Raposo left the scene of the crash at the intersection of Rt. 6 and Gardner's Neck Rd.. The responding officer claims that Raposo drove over a snow bank and drove away from the officer when he first approached his car.

The Swansea officer reported that Raposo repeatedly asked to be given a break and given a ride home because he was a fellow officer.  Fall River Police say that Raposo was on a medical leave from the department and Chief Daniel Racine says he's  going to let the court case play out before any action is taken.
