FALL RIVER (WBSM) — Authorities are investigating after a deceased man was found in the Quequechan River in Fall River Wednesday morning.

Where the Body Was Found in Fall River

Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III said just after 9 a.m. on March 18, emergency services received a call about a body in the Quequechan River in the area of the Quequechan Rail Trail. Quinn said the precise location was 123 feet east of Quequechan Street, just north of Interstate 195.

Fall River Police arrived on the scene and pulled a fully clothed, unresponsive man from the water onto the embankment. Paramedics arrived and pronounced the man deceased.

Quinn said there was “no observable trauma” to the deceased man’s face or body. He said identification is pending confirmation from the Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Investigation Ongoing

Fall River Police and Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the D.A.’s Office are investigating.

Playing cards are being distributed to inmates in Massachusetts correctional facilities depicting the victims of unsolved murders and disappearances in the hopes that some inmates may recognize them and help bring closure to their cases.
