A Fairhaven woman was placed under arrest Tuesday night following an investigation into a cocaine delivery service operating in New Bedford.

Detective Captain Steven Vicente says that at 7 p.m. two search warrants were executed by the Organized Crime and Intelligence Bureau.

The target of the investigation, identified as 45-year-old Ana Victoria Valdez, was observed in different parts of the city meeting up with customers.

As a result of the investigation a a search warrant was obtained for Valdez's home located at 20 Wilding St. and 2007 BMW.

Valdez was taken into custody after her car was stopped at the intersection of Route 18 and Elm St.

A search of the vehicle turned up 32 bags of cocaine weighing approximately 68 grams.

Investigators then searched her Wilding St. home and discovered an additional 52 grams of cocaine for a total of 120 grams.

The drugs have a street value of over $3,000.

Vicente says investigators also uncovered $8,365 in cash, digital scales, packaging material and cutting agents.

Valdez was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday morning in New Bedford District Court on a charge of Trafficking Cocaine in excess of 100 grams.
