Seaglass Theater Celebrates Massachusetts Music History With ‘Born & Bred’ Concert
The Seaglass Theater Company is joining in the spirit of the 250th anniversary of our nation with a special show honoring the musical legacy of the Commonwealth.
The show is titled Born & Bred: Celebrating the Musical Legacy of Massachusetts. It is happening Sunday, September 20 at 3 p.m. at the Unitarian Memorial Church in Fairhaven.
Patrice Tiedemann, Artistic Director and founder of the Seaglass Theater Company, visited Townsquare Sunday to share details about the show.

"We were formed in 2016, so this year is our 10th anniversary," Tiedemann said. "Our specialty is doing musical theater, opera, American songbook, and a little bit of everything else."
"All of our performers are paid, and have active performing careers in New England, and beyond," she said.
Tracing Centuries of Massachusetts Music
Tiedemann said Massachusetts has a musical legacy dating back to at least the 18th century.
"There are many musicians who were either born here, or bred here, studied here or had a good part of their career here," she said. "So we wanted to select some of the best and do a concert, so we have something for everyone."
Tiedemann said the show will include musical selections from Leonard Bernstein to James Taylor, musical theater to pop, and everything in between. Tunes from Cole Porter and Arlo Guthrie will also be featured.
Meet the Performers and Pianist
The singers are Sarah Callinan, Kristin Lawler, and Craig Jurika, with Steven Bergman on piano. "They are all wonderful performers, very engaging storytellers, and experienced with all genres of music," Tiedemann said.
Tickets and Event Information
Tickets for Born & Bred: Celebrating the Musical Legacy of Massachusetts are $30 and can be purchased on eventbrite.com. Tickets may also be available at the door 30 minutes before the show.
"The show will be in the true Seaglass way," Tiedemann said. "We try to make a lot out of a little, and bring a really, really beautiful musical experience to the area."
