Fairhaven Family Honors Late Dog Rowdy With Heartwarming Tribute
If you've ever had a dog, you know the unconditional love that they provide. The wag of the tail as you walk in the door, the immediate drool as you scoop their food, the sweet cuddles on the couch as you pet their head.

Dogs hold a special place in our hearts and for good reason. They're family.
So when I saw a recent post on Facebook, memorializing man's best friend, I had to reach out to know more.
Man's Best Friend
Rowdy was a good boy, the best to the Grinnell family.

Rowdy was Jason's dog. Like most pups, he loved to play fetch. If you were a member of the Fairhaven football team, you may have met him.
"The Fairhaven football team always goes by our house and would woof at Rowdy or call his name," said Jason's mom, Leasa. "Rowdy would bark all the way down the fence line to greet them. We always joked that Rowdy would be their mascot."
Rowdy brought joy and life to the Grinnells for eight wonderful years. Sadly, they recently had to say goodbye to their furry family member.
Remembering Rowdy
Though Rowdy has crossed over the rainbow bridge, his memory lives on with a touching tribute: a sign on their fence hangs above a basket full of tennis balls.
"In his memory, take a ball and play with a dog," the sign reads.
The inspiration came from another dog, Mac. His memorial can be found in Fairhaven's Cushman Park.
"It does warm our hearts hearing stories from those who took his balls and played with their dog. Our letter carrier Jen Rego took one for her dog," Leasa said.

She even saw some members of the football team, the ones who always greeted Rowdy, take a few.
A simple gesture that keeps the memory of Rowdy alive and reminds us that even the small things in life can become long-lasting memories over time.
So give them all the belly rubs. Spoil them with treats. Play fetch. Time is precious, and so are our pups.
