FAIRHAVEN — Fairhaven Police are searching for a vehicle that struck a bicyclist this afternoon before fleeing the scene.

The bicyclist was riding on the bike path in town, and was struck where the path intersects Hamlet Street just before noon.

The victim, a 43-year-old Fairhaven man, was riding on the bike path with his brother when he was struck by the vehicle. He was transported to St. Luke's Hospital by Fairhaven Fire Department paramedics with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect vehicle is described as a dark gray Hyundai sedan. It is believed to have sustained front end damage during the impact. After striking the bicyclist, the sedan fled northbound on Hamlet Street and fled the area.
