Fairhaven Police Identify Suspected Wallet Thief

Fairhaven Police say they used social media to track down a man who stole a wallet from the shopping cart of an elderly woman at the local Walmart.

"We are looking for your help to identify this male who had the nerve to take an elderly woman's wallet from her shopping cart as she turned her back at Walmart here in town," the Fairhaven Police Department posted to Facebook earlier this week.

They provided still photos pulled from security cameras at a McDonald's in Plymouth, where the woman's card was illegally used. "Share away!! He was dropped off by someone driving this Honda Element and later got on a bus," police wrote.

On Wednesday police announced that the man had been identified, but did not provide the suspect's name.

"We have to corroborate a few things but it seems we have identified him!! Thanks to social media we will serve some justice in this case!! STOP ROBBING FROM THE ELDERLY!" police commented.
