Fairhaven police seized approximately 36 grams of fentanyl and $28,000 while executing a search warrant on Edgewater Street on Tuesday.

Joshua Clark, 40, was arrested and charged with trafficking more than 10 grams of fentanyl and possession of a Class E substance, said Fairhaven Police Lt. Kevin Kobza.

On Jan. 5 at about 8 p.m., Fairhaven police detectives joined members of the Bristol County Sheriff's Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration to execute a search warrant at Clark's home.

Clark was found outdoors near his home and was was found to have 30 grams of fentanyl on his person, Kobza said. Police arrested the suspect and searched his home. There the detectives seized an additional six grams of fentanyl along with $28,000 in cash.

Clark was arraigned Wednesday at New Bedford District Court. He was ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing on Jan. 8.

"This was great work by our detectives in getting these drugs off the streets and arresting the suspect," Lt. Kobza said. "We would like to thank our law enforcement partners who assisted in this operation."
