Fairhaven Police are investigating an accident involving one of their own cruisers.

Police say the 2015 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor was travelling south on Adams Street around 9am Friday morning when a 2014 Ford Fusion heading west on Bridge Street T-boned the police vehicle. The force of the crash caused the Interceptor to careen into a telephone pole.

The officer in the vehicle was transported to St. Luke's Hospital for evaluation. He was not injured and has been released. The driver of the Ford Fusion was not injured, either.

Police are working to determine if the driver of the Fusion will be cited for the accident which remains under investigation.
