FAIRHAVEN — A rollover crash on I-195 in Fairhaven Monday afternoon sent one person to the hospital.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. this afternoon, Engine 3 and Medic 1 from the Fairhaven Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle crash on I-195 westbound in the area of mile marker 28, close to the Fairhaven-Mattapoisett town line.

According to Fairhaven Fire Department public information officer Lt. Paul Correia, two vehicles were involved, one with minor damage and the second with heavy damage resulting from rolling over and eventually catching fire. Engine 3 extinguished the fire, and Correia said the driver of that vehicle was treated and transported to Rhode Island Hospital in stable condition.

The Mattapoisett Fire Department responded with mutual aid to assist with the motor vehicle crash and cleanup, Correia said.
