Free Fairhaven Boat But Is It Too Good to Be True?

Living so close to the water, it’s likely that just about everyone on the SouthCoast that doesn’t already own a boat wishes every once in a while that they did.

Well, if you’re looking to own a boat but you can’t afford one, somebody in Fairhaven has the deal for you.

There’s a free boat listed on Craigslist in Fairhaven for someone brave enough to pick it up and put it in the water.

There are very few details listed; it just says “19 foot boat motor and trailer.” Still, that’s really everything you need to at least give being a boat owner a go. The tires for the trailer even look like they’re holding air, so that’s a plus.

Now, I don’t know much about boats, but this one looks like it might be seaworthy. There are no visible holes or cracks in the photo, but to be fair, there is one whole side that isn’t shown in the photographs.

If there isn’t some damage on that side, then it looks like all this boat really needs is someone willing to give it a good scrubbing and some TLC.

Of course, I would recommend you definitely bring along someone that knows boats before you show up and haul it away. You wouldn’t want one person’s lawn ornament to become another person’s, well, lawn ornament.

The good news is that if you do take it and end up not doing anything with it, there’s always someone who will want to come and pick up a free boat so you can just pawn it off on the next person.
