Eversource Plans Low-Flying Aerial Inspections This Week
Don't get spooked if you see some low-flying helicopters around the SouthCoast for the rest of this week.
Eversource announced it is conducting its semiannual aerial inspection of vegetation growing near its high-voltage lines across Eastern Massachusetts. A blue and white helicopter will be flying low over Eversource's transmission line corridors to check to make sure trees or other vegetation isn't growing too close.
The aerial inspections begin today and will conclude by Friday, weather permitting. If delayed by weather, the inspections will resume the week of April 17. Flights will take place between approximately 8 a.m. and until 3 p.m. The flights will begin in the northern part of the Eastern Massachusetts service area, before heading south toward Cape Cod and the Greater New Bedford region later in the week.
