Emotions Run High After Council Meeting

Tempers flared after Thursday night's City Council meeting.

Council President Brian Gomes got into a shouting match with Councilor at Large Linda Morad after what Gomes calls months of disrespect.

The Council President says there have been countless rumors about him having to win the presidency through favors or some other secret dealings.

Morad claims that she never accused Gomes of making any deals and didn't make any accusations during the heated exchanging of words Thursday night.

The meeting came to an abrupt end after Morad tried to file a late motion and it was rejected by Gomes.

She says she just wanted her time to speak on the council floor.

While both councilors were elected to the City Council during the 2013 general election, Gomes defeated Morad 6-5 this January to preside over the council.
