Emergency Overflow Shelter Opening in New Bedford Tonight
NEW BEDFORD - With the temperature expected to dip into mid-30s with even colder wind chills Monday night, the emergency overflow shelter at the Sister Rose House in New Bedford will be opening to shield people from the elements.
Guests can start arriving at 6 p.m. with an 8:45 p.m. cutoff time. Shelter is provided on a first come, first served basis. The shelter can accommodate up to 25 people, both men and women.
Anybody trying to enter the facility with drugs or weapons will be denied entry.
The Sister Rose House is located at 71 Division Street in New Bedford.
