"The Ellen DeGeneres Show" has reached a new ratings high. According to Deadline.com, the host's "12 Days of Giveaways" holiday special this year has helped her hit another career milestone. 4.2 million people tuned in to the week of December 2nd, which included the first two days of her annual giveaways. 4.4 million watched as it continued on the next week.

The celebrity guests stopping by to help spread the holiday cheer also may have spurred along ratings. "Glee's" Lea Michele did her first sit-down interview with Ellen since the death of her boyfriend Cory Monteith. Tom Hanks also appeared to promote his latest movie "Saving Mr. Banks."

Deadline.com notes that Ellen is expected to either match or set new highs when the ratings for the final days of her "Giveaway" special come in.
