Democrat Elizabeth Warren has been elected to the Senate from Massachusetts. Warren has been in a tough race against incumbent Republican Senator Scott Brown and had a message for his supporters.

It was the most expensive Senate contest in the nation this year, with the candidates spending a combined $68 million, and one of the most closely watched races.

Warren is a Harvard Law professor and former Obama administration adviser who helped create the federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in the wake of the mortgage crisis and the meltdown on Wall Street.
