Fire officials say they believe it was an electrical issue that caused a fire at a two family home in New Bedford Thursday night.

Fire Chief Michael Gomes says the fire at 125 Reynolds St. was reported around 8:30 p.m.

Chief Gomes says crews were able to quickly get the fire under control.

The home sustained roughly $18,000 in damage.

"There was fire and smoke damage on the third floor and water damage on the second," said Gomes "we had to secure utilities on the second floor due to the electrical nature of the fire."

No injuries were reported, but one family was displaced.
