Elderly Woman Hit By Car in New Bedford

NEW BEDFORD — An 85-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle near Trucchi's Supermarket on 2141 Acushnet Ave in New Bedford early Sunday morning.

The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hosptial in Providence and her condition is unknown at this time.

A spokesman for the New Bedford Police Department stated the incident remains under investigation and further details regarding the incident could not be released at this time.
