An estimated 400 to 500 people are expected to attend Sunday's Easter Sunrise Service at Fort Phoenix in Fairhaven.

The Interchurch Council of Greater New Bedford sponsors the event along with clergy members in Fairhaven.

Executive Minister David Lima tells WBSM News, he's always impressed by the number of people who keep coming back year-after-year. "There's been a few couples that have approached me in years past, saying they come home during this Easter Season to visit their families, just so they can be a part of this service. It means so much to them."

Rev. Lima says this Sunday is the 78th Easter Sunrise Service that the Interchurch Council has been a part of.

Lima says the service will start around 6:30 Sunday Morning and he predicts hundreds of people will be there.
