East Falmouth Woman Arrested for Highway Stabbing in Bridgewater
BRIDGEWATER — An East Falmouth woman is in State Police custody after stabbing another woman where Route 24 meets Interstate 495 in Bridgewater Saturday.
Massachusetts State Police say that troopers arrested a 36-year-old East Falmouth woman after an investigation indicates that she physically assaulted a 32-year-old female from Saugus with a knife.
At about 1:30 p.m., troopers from the State Police-Middleboro Barracks responded to cellular 911 reports of an assault on the ramp of Route 24 North to I-495 northbound in Bridgewater. According to witnesses, the vehicle, a 2019 Jeep Cherokee, stopped on the ramp and both women exited the vehicle. The East Falmouth woman got back into the vehicle and fled, leaving the victim on the side of the road with stab wounds to her leg.
The victim was transported by Bridgewater EMS to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
A BOLO (Be on the Look Out) alert for the suspect vehicle was broadcast to area patrols. A short time later, the suspect was located and arrested at the Red Fox Inn on Route 1 in Foxborough. The suspect was transported to the State Police-Middleboro Barracks, where she was booked.
At this time, the suspect is charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Assault and Battery on a Family or Household Member, second offense. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be forthcoming.
The suspect is not being identified per a state law that prohibits the release of names of domestic violence suspects.
